The world of Mario just got all mashed up with "Minecraft."

These incredible stages are coming to "Minecraft" as a part of the "Super Mario Mash-Up Pack," a totally free update to the Wii U version of "Minecraft":

While it may not seem like it at first glance, these two franchises fit perfectly together.

The all-ages appeal of "Minecraft" merges perfectly with the classic retro feel of "Super Mario."

And there's something quite awesome about seeing those two worlds collide.

You'll be able to play as almost every Mario character you can think of, including Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Daisy. But that's not all!

There's also Toad, Yoshi, Toadette, and Birdo. There will be a total of 40 playable characters coming out with the "Super Mario Mash-Up Pack."

According to the official press release, "Players will be able to fend off blocky Hammer Bros. and Dry Bones the same way they do Creepers and Zombies." It looks like there will be a number of other enemies coming as well, including Koopas and those jumping fire snakes!
