:envihab (from the words ‘Environment’ and ‘Habitat’) is a state of the art research facility operated by the Institute for Aerospace Medicine at the German Space Agency (DLR). NASA researchers use the facility to study simulated microgravity with extended head-down-tilt bedrest studies, focusing on how to combat space-based muscle loss and  balance impairments.
