A 1-year-old Bronx girl was fighting for her life Thursday after her horrified father pulled her from an overflowing bathtub that was raining water into a downstairs apartment, cops said.
The girl, identified only as Leslie Nicole, got into the tub and turned it on at the family’s third-floor Selwyn Ave. apartment in Highbridge at about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, a relative said.
Her 23-year-old father made the horrifying discovery after a neighbor banged on his door to complain of water leaking into his second-floor flat, police said.
The dad went to check and found his baby girl floating in the tub. He scooped up the child and ran down the street to Bronx-Lebanon Hospital, where the child was listed in critical condition.
“I saw water coming down from upstairs,” said neighbor Daisy Moran. “I sent my son up to tell them they had the water on.

“That’s when (the father) found the baby in the bathtub. He was panicking. He said the baby was unconscious,” Moran said.
At the hospital, the girl’s distraught uncle said “It was just an accident. The little girl climbed in the tub and turned the water on herself. She didn’t know. She’s only a baby.”
The girl’s mom and 3-year-old brother were not home at the time, cops said.
