Eastern Items. Boston,March 16.
--Four Gloucester fishing vessels, for the Georges Banks, have been missing several weeks, and are probably lost, with from thirty to forty lives.
The Methodist Church on Harvard street, Cambridgeport, was destroyed by fire at about midnight.
Loss $15,000--insurance $5,000.
Nearly one foot of snow fell between ten last night and this morning, which is greatly rifted by the strong northeast gale.
It ceased snowing here at about noon.
There has been no serious obstruction of the railroads, the various trains due this forenoon being behind only from one to three hours.

Southern rights meeting, &c., &c. Louisville, March, 16.
--A large Southern Rights meeting was held at the Court-House last night and attended with considerable confusion, and finally broke up in a row.
Levi Tyler and B. O. Davis, old and prominent citizens, the latter of Boston, died last night.

--The Southern Pacific Railroad asks the stockholders to take one dollar's worth of new stock for each share held by them.

Marine Disaster. Norfolk, March 16.
--Schr. L. Waterbury, from St. Marks, Fla., bound for New York with cotton, is ashore in Lynnhaven Bay.--The cargo will be saved, but the vessel will probably prove a loss.

Sales of ed 65@ 66 cts; new 60 cts. Pork is dull.
Mess at $16 50@ 16 75; Prime $12 50@12 75.
Lard is steady.
Whiskey closed firm at 17¼@17 ¼ cts.
