The County Court of Caroline, it is stated, has passed an order requiring all dealers in ardent spirits to refrain from selling the same between the 23d instant and 1st of January under the penalty of a forfeiture of the licenses.
Richmond Academy of Medicine.
--Another meeting of this society was held last evening at the Medical College, Professor Joynes presiding.
The organization of the Academy was completed by the adoption of a constitution and by-laws, reported by Dr. Houston, chairman of the committee appointed at a previous meeting to draft them.
One of the provisions of the constitution, as reported, forbid the members of the Academy to patronize druggists who deal in patent medicines, but this provision was stricken out.
The next meeting of the Academy will be held on the first Thursday in January.

A Suggestion.
Secretary McCulloch yesterday received a letter, signed by several prominent colored men, in which they suggest that the land and other property of colored people be subjected to an additional tax, the revenue from which to be appropriated to the benefit of colored persons in destitute circumstances.
