Mr. Keene offered a resolution that a committee of three be appointed to bring in a bill amending the stay law passed on December 19th. Passed. A bill was brought in by the committee amending the act so as not to affect debts due since 2d of April, 1865. Read a third time and passed. Mr. Robinson, of Norfolk, introduced a bill authorising the purchase of arms and equipments for the State Guard. It was read a third time and passed unanimously. Mr. Lee, of Orange, reported from comroperty levied on shall be restored to the defendant, but shall remain subject to the lien of the execution aforesaid; but nothing in this act contained shall be construed to apply to any case of debt or contract arising subsequent to the 2d day of April, 1865."
