At the time of Mr. Skinner's coming, we can judge somewhat of the strength of the parish by presenting a few figures. The pew rentals had amounted annually to about $1,800, and the appropriations $3,200. These rentals increased materially, for in 1882 they were $2,457, the next year $2,517, in 1886 they reached $2,812, while the appropriations were increased to $4,000 during these years.
