W. gale, in the Vineyard Sound, about two miles south of Quick's Hole. About eight feet of her lower masts are out of water. It is supposed that the ice made so fast on the vessel that she foundered, carrying down all on board. Small pieces of a boat and cabin work have washed ashore on the north side of the Vineyard. The wreck is supposed to be that of schr. R. R. Freeman, (of Wellfleet,) Smith, from Tangier, Va., with oysters for Boston. The R. R.

California Pony Express. Fort Kearney,Feb. 12.--The following is additional news per the Pony Express, which arrived here at half-past 6 o'clock this evening: San Francisco,Jan. 26.--The firm of Messrs. Abernethey, Clark & Co., extensive lumber dealers, of this city, have failed for a large amount. They have been engaged for many years in the business, and received their supplies principally from Oregon. All the candidates for U. S. Senator are invited to address a meeting of the Legislature and the public at San Francisco this evening, on the state of the Union. It is believed that some of them will respond to the invitation. An effort is making among the Douglas members of the Legislature to hold a caucus on Tuesday or Thursday of next week to nominate a Senatorial candidate. An incendiary fire occurred at Sacramento on the 24th, destroying a large boarding- house, known as the "Palace." The inmates barely escaped with their lives. Loss about $150,000.
