Stopping Brigandage. --Very summary measures have been taken in connection with a band of outlaws that, for some time, have had their headquarters in the notorious locality of Shiflett's hollow, in Albemarle county, Virginia, under the Blue Ridge. They have committed a great many outrages and depredations on the people of that neighborhood. They were deserters from the army, and the proceedings against them were doubtless under military authority. Two of these men were captured about a week since. A few days since they were taken out of jail, by order of Major Mason, and carried back to Shiflett's hollow. One of them, named Hoy, was hung. Four others including the companion of Hoy) were shot. The names of three were Beddo, Frazier and Shiflett.
