ry (Lain) for 1860 gives Walt Whitman. copyist. and by contributing wonderfully vivid sketches of his experiences to the Brooklyn Eagle and Union and the New York Times. Most of these letters were reprinted in Specimen days or in The Wound-Dresser. See Bibliography.
