v. Nelson Head. It reported a decided improvement in the financial condition of the paper and in the general management of its affairs. The liabilities of the paper have been much lessened. Dr. Doggett addressed the Conference in further explanation of the condition of the paper and of the action of the Publishing Committee. In concert with the other members of the Committee, the speaker hoped that the Advocate would continue. Further remarks were submitted by Messrs. Joyner, Fitzpatrick, Davis, Head, Burton, Langhorne, Moss, Whitehead, Bennett, Cowles, Edwards, and Stanley, chiefly directed to details of management to be adopted for the future. The report met with general favor, and the purpose to continue the paper was universal among the members of the Conference. The report was adopted.
