In the letter of resignation of Brigadier General Walker, lately , it will be recollected that he stated the Major General Lovell was born at the North.
A corresponds of the N. C. Picayune comes out in a to that paper concerning Gen. W., and states that Gen. Lovell was born within thirty miles of Manassas, at Washington.

He died the next day.
