After having fired several shells into us, she left us and engaged the Minnesota and the shore batteries, after which, Lieutenant Pendergast states, the wounded were taken ashore in small boats, the ship having been on fire from the beginning of the action from hot shot fired by the Merrimac. The saw and grist mill of Mr. Tho Moore, in Clayton county Ga., was assumed by fire on the night of the 10th inst. The Victoria Advocate announces the of Col. W. P. Miller, an old Texan of Mexico-Texan revolution. Col. Randolph Spalding died in Savannah Ga., on the 17th inst. Gen. Lovel has proclaimed martial law New Orleans and the adjacent parishes. Capt. Thomas J. Ivy, a native of North died in New Orleans on the 8th inst.
