, for the day being a warm one, they had taken off their blouses, which when they left they did not stop to don. The writer's blouse was left by the side of the gun. It contained nothing valuable but a diary of the campaign from Cold Harbor to Reams, which has been sorely missed in the preparation of the last two or three chapters.
