served for a time on the South Carolina coast, but by uniting with the Twenty-fourth battalion went to form the Seventh Georgia cavalry, which served with distinction in Virginia. William F. Laws became quartermaster of the battalion in place of Captain Platt, C. C. Bowen captain of Company B, and H. K. Harrison of Company D.
