New York,Feb. 21.--The steamship Nova Scotia, with Liverpool dates to the 7th, via Londonderry on the 8th, arrived here this morning.
Gaeta,Feb. 7.--A terrible explosion of three magazines occurred here to-day, throwing down the side curtain of the citadel and garrison.
An armistice of two days was asked to bury the dead, which was granted by Gen. Cialdina, who also sent the necessary sup-plies for the injured.
The Sultan of Turkey continues the refusal to prolong the French occupation of Syria.
Montegrin's army were ravaging the village of Nicisset, killing the men, women and children, and burning their houses.
England had been invited by France to stop Garibaldi's career; but the latter declined on the ground that the Neapolitans ought to be left alone, to settle the matter themselves.

The Surge of Gaeta.
--We take the following from a letter in the Constitutional, dated on board the frigate Garibaldi, Mola di Gaeta, 28th January:
I take advantage of a few moments on shore at Mola to send you some details respecting th about 10 o'clock, and experiment was made with the electric light from General Cialdini's residence to throw a light upon Gaeta, so as to enable the artillerymen to point the guns with precision.
On the 22d, at 8 A. M., white 4,000 men were working he Admiral ordered the firing to cease, to give rest to the crews.--During the night all the vessels remained in front of Gaeta; the gunboats alone continued the attack.
On the 23d the Admiral, after expressing his thanks to the commander of the Garibaldi, left for Mola, only leaving the Garibaldi, a steam frigate and two gunboats to cruise before Gaeta.
In the space of six hours our frigate sent in 971 projectiles.
Five shells from the fortress struck us, but did little damage.

--The Canadian, from Liverpool on the 14th, via Londonderry on the evening of the 15th, arrived last night.
Gaeta had capitulated, and the Royal family retired on board a French war steamer.
The garrison remain prisoners of war until Messina and some other cities shall surrender.
The North Briton arrived out on the 14th, and the Teutonia on the 15th.

Sales for the week only 32,000 bales, in consequence of the accumulation of stock in port and decline in consumption.
