--Having been placed in possession of conclusive evidence that many dishonest persons have been and are now, engaged in stealing Oysters from the large and valuable beds of planted Oysters, in the rivers within the district of Receivers

W. A. Maury, of
Fredericksburg; said beds of Oysters being the property of alien enemy and, as such liable to sequestration I hereby caution all persons that every act of robber, trespass, or depredation upon said property, will be prosecuted with the utmost rigor and severity.
Until agents are appointed to take charge of the property in question, I respectfully invoke for it the protection of all honest citizens resident upon and near the river within the districts a foresaid Persons furnishing in formation which may lead to the conviction of those who have been stealing said property, will be liberally rewarded.
