From Mecklenburg.

the ladies moving — interesting Tableauz Exhibition for the benefit of the sick soldiers — Railroad meeting, &c.

[Special correspondence of the Dispatch.]

Clarksville, Mecklenburg, Oct. 18th, 1861.
On Tuesday evening last the ladies of our town and neighborhood enlivened the community by interesting tableaux for the benefit of the sick soldiers. The entertainment was exceedingly agreeable. The principal ladies under whose auspices the tableaux were in augurated are the Misses Carrington, Miss Anna Williams, Miss Anna Talley, Miss Wood, and several others whose names do not now occur to me. The receipts were fifty-three dollars, which amount is flattering to the young ladies, when the scarcity of material for an audience is taken into consideration. I presume that this money will be forwarded to the Young Men's Aid Society in Richmond, if it has not already gone.

Yesterday the annual meeting of stockholders in the Roanoke Valley Railroad transpired in this town. Owing to the failure of the company to pay the interest on its coupons, the bond-holders made an effort to place the road in the hands of a trustee. After a warm discussion, the effort failed, and the stockholders proceeded to re-elect Mr. Henry Wood President of the road.

Next Monday is Mecklenburg Court day.--No matter of much interest will engage the attention of the Court, except the case of Mr. Richard Merryman, who is charged with receiving stolen brass, old irons, &c., &c. The probability is that the evidence will be insufficient to send him to the Circuit Court. Nous cerrons. Occasional.
