Wizards of the Coast has launched a year-long event designed to "reshape" its Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms game-world, including a free-to-play mobile game.
Mobile game launches D&D Forgotten Realms event

‘The Sundering’ is the name given to this event, which, as well as mobile game Arena of War, includes a series of six new novels from established D&D authors including R.A. Salvatore, Troy Denning and Ed Greenwood. The company is also planning a host of tabletop games and events in its stores over the next 12 months.
Arena of War, the first free-to-play D&D game on iOS and Android, is a 3D roleplaying game featuring timed events and multiplayer competitions that will run throughout the time of ‘The Sundering.’
“Spanning across digital offerings, D&D fans will experience ‘The Sundering’ in a multitude of ways,” offered a Wizards of the Coast statement. “When ‘The Sundering’ is complete, the results of these stunning events will have reshaped the Forgotten Realms forever, providing direction for future representations of the brand.”
