Methods and Activities


Time Allocated Engager 3 min Activity (student) Turn their chairs toward the front of the room for instruction. Count down from 20 to 0. Method (teacher) Tell the student that you have a surprise game that they are going to play. Have the students count down from 20 to 0 and then show them the ball and the numbers on paper we will use for the games. Give a couple examples of write the missing numbers 34, 35, __, 37 ect. Hand each student a number on a piece of paper and tell them to get in order from least to greatest, then from greatest to least. I will have the students stand around their desks and play the game. I will start by saying a random number 1-100 and toss the ball to a student.

Give students numbers and have them order themselves from least to greatest. Then do the same thing from greatest to least. The students will play a game where they will have to say the next number in order or they have to sit down. After a student correctly says the next number, they will pass the ball to the next person. They will all stand in a circle and the students will pass the ball to whoever they want. Students will complete the practice worksheet.

I will pass out the practice worksheet PW 13 and circulate while checking their answers. I will give help as needed. Have the students self grade with crayon and turn in the paper.
