Teaching is a well-planned presentation of facts, ideas and skills to
students. And the person who does this is called teacher. A teacher usually enjoys a noble status in the society. He is considered to be role model of decent values. He bears a flawless character. He showers knowledge upon everyone. He instills great social and cultural values into humans. He emits bright beams of knowledge to enlighten the gloomy hearts. Briefly speaking, a teacher plays a vital role in making of nation. The first quality of ideal teacher is that he appeals to the heart and soul of the student. He urges them to probe them into their souls. He reveals that the knowledge of self is the knowledge of god. To study ‘self’ is really a difficult task. It requires deep devotion and great wisdom. Therefore an ideal teacher helps his students to develop the qualities of the self-knowledge, self-control and self- esteem. An ideal give his students an artistic version. He arouses in them a strong passion for work and knowledge. As a result, the students’ imagination burn into fames they begin to see beyond the bounds of heaven and earth. They become keen to see the unseen. They become eager to discover the hidden treasure of knowledge. An ideal teacher must be paragon of beauty that gives pleasure to the senses. A teacher without forceful personality and decent manners is just like a barren land. Education without moral values is just like a dry fountain. Therefore a teacher must bear a good moral character. He must be a model for his student. They would certainly follow his habits and manners. An ideal teacher must have full command of his subject. He must have a through knowledge and core skills of imparting knowledge. Effective communication is the lifeblood of teaching profession. The teacher must convey his feelings and thoughts to his students in effectively. A free-flowing discussion, a simple speech and logical presentation of ideas are the vital factors that make communication forceful. And ideal teacher must possess all these attributes. Briefly speaking, a teacher must use great teaching techniques. He must prepare a well organized lesson plan. He must arrange tutorials groups. He must urge his students to take part in Co- curricular activities. He must make his students leading sportsman great citizen and great scholar.
