Physics 72.1

The document reports on an experiment measuring the magnetic field produced by a current-carrying solenoid and bar magnets. It finds that the magnetic field inside a solenoid is directly proportional to both the current and number of turns per unit length. The magnetic field lines created by a solenoid and bar magnet are also found to be similar, forming closed loops without sources or sinks. The experiment allows calculation of the permeability constant for the solenoid to within 6.4% of the accepted value.

CONCLUSION
Current & number of turns both have a
linear relationship with the magnitude of the
magnetic field inside a solenoid.

Magnetic field was directly proportional to the

current and the number of turns per unit length

Magnetic field lines created by a bar magnet

and a solenoid are similar having no sources
of source or sink, instead a close loop of
magnetic field lines
