Michael Elias Marmura
Michael Elias Marmura ( November 11, 1929 - September 17, 2009) was a Palestinian scholar of Islamic
philosophy and Professor Emeritus of Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations at the University of Toronto.
He was a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.[1]

Marmura died in Antigonish on the evening of September 17, 2009.[1]

The University of Toronto has established the Michael E. Marmura Lecture Series in Arabic Studies in his
honor.[2]
