Course Description This course provides knowledge and skills on basic English rules that include some basic organizational
principles of grammar, the relationship between grammar and meaning, and a number of grammatical
functions for part of speech, sentences, noun phrases, verb phrases, adjective phrases, adverbial phrases.

A. Evaluation/Assessment
1. Weekly-written assignment or exercises
Objective : The students are given exercise (paper-based worksheet) on the topic each week, it can be in the form
of multiple choice, fill in the blank, error analysis, sentence construction.
Evaluation Criteria : Analytical rating scale for grammatical ability

2. Mid-Term Test
Objective : The students are tested for their knowledge and application about the material in 2 nd to 7th meeting. The test
can be in the form of multiple choice or fill in the blank.
Evaluation Criteria : Grading point 1 – 100

3. Final Test
Objective : The students are assessed for their knowledge, understanding, and application for the whole material
in 2nd to 16th meeting. The test is in the form of multiple choice, fill in the blank, sentence construction,
and error analysis.
Evaluation Criteria : Grading point 1 - 100

4. Participation
Objective : Classroom discussion/ participation is graded to see students’ engagement to the topic discussed
