Verily the most truthful speech is the Word of Allaah and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad , and the worst

is a going astray and every going astray is in the Fire.

We ask Allaah to bless with sincerity this morning’s gathering and in that which we are about to present to
you, to benefit all of us and to grant us tawfeeq.
Today’s talk is purely a reminder first to myself and then to you my dear sisters. Knowing how this dunya
distracts, we always need to be reminded for verily reminding benefits the believers. This temporary life is
soon leaving and we are about to face our imminent demise. Therefore we need to make sure that we are
moving on the right track because we’re going to pass this way only once.

Allaah gave us clear instructions to the safe way back to Him: Narrated Abdullah bin Mas‘ud :
Allah’s Messenger drew a straight line (for our comprehension) saying that it is the way to Allâh. Then
he drew oblique lines on both the left and right of the straight line, saying that Satan prompts [inuudyukan]
you to follow these. He recited part of the Qur’ânic verse:
And to inspire us, Allaah related to us the about His female servant and her tremendous desire to have
Jannah as her abode--- notwithstanding the hardship it entailed --- to serve as a model for us to emulate.
Her name is Asiyah bint Muzahim and she was the wife of Fir3awn. Allaah said ,

That was her ardent wish to be in Jannah---and she got it. It is said that when she said this, the sky opened
for her and she saw her home in Jannah and she smiled.
Frustrated and angry, the guards picked up a huge rock to crush her completely. But before they could do
that, Allah took her soul and she became an example for all the believing men and women until the end
of time.
As believing women, this should be our goal in life, “I want to go to Jannah (Paradise)."
Sadly enough, few of us remember the highest of humanly wishes; the greatest of wishes; the best of
wishes; the loftiest of wishes.
Yeah sure, it is there on our list, and we wish for it. But NOT with the fervor and passion that it deserves.
Why is that my dear sisters? Is it because we are not scared enough to run away from the Hellfire to save
ourselves from its painful torments and severe punishments whose fuel is men and stones?

“I WANT TO GO TO JANNAH."
This talk goes to me and to all of you my dear Sisters in Islaam. We need to be cautious of what lies ahead.
The Prophet did not warn us about falling into a hole or having an accident or tripping on our aba3ah.
Rather he warned us of something much bigger than that which is the punishment of Hellfire.
Dear Sisters in Islaam, our Beloved Prophet saw something that if we only knew of its severity, we would
never laugh. He saw Hellfire and he saw that the majority of the people of Hell will be from among us
women.
It was narrated from ‘Imraan ibn Husayn that the Prophet said: “I looked into Paradise and I saw that the
majority of its people were the poor. And I looked into Hell and I saw that the majority of its people are women.” (Narrated
by al-Bukhaari, 3241; Muslim, 2737)

The Prophet mention; “Few of the inhabitants of Paradise are women.” [Muslim, via 'Imraan Ibn Husayn]
‘Amr Ibn al-’Aas mentioned ‘Whilst we were with the Messenger of Allaah in this valley (on this
mountain path), he said; “Look, can you see anything? “ We said, ‘We see crows, and one of them stands out because
its beak and feet are red.”
The Messenger of Allaah said; “No women will enter Paradise except those who are as rare among them as this crow
is among the others.” [Ahmad & Abu Ya'la, via 'Amr Ibn al-'Aas, see also Silsilat al-Ahaadeeth as-Saheehah, 4/466. hadeeth #
1851]
Women will be few among the inhabitants of Paradise because in most cases they prefer the immediate
pleasures of this life, as they are (generally) less wise and unable to keep the hereafter in mind.
They are too weak to strive (alone) and prepare themselves for it, and are more inclined towards this world.
In spite of all this, they are the strongest factor in this world that distracts men from the Hereafter, because
men are inclined to desire them and they are not concerned with the Hereafter.
They are quick to follow those who call them to deviate from Islaam, and reluctant to follow those pious
people who call them to the Hereafter and righteous deeds.
6|Page
Another factor why many people will be driven to hell (in a thirsty state) is mentioned in a hadeeth collected
by Bukhaaree and Muslim on the authority of Abu Hurayrah, where the Messenger of Allaah said;
:ﷲ ﺻﻠﻰ ﺍﷲ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ ﻗﺎﻝ ِ ﺳﻮ ﹶﻝ ﺍ ﺃ ﱠﻥ ﺭ:ﺿﻲ ﺍﷲ ﻋﻨﻪﺮﻳﺮ ﹶﺓ ﺭﻦ ﺃﰊ ﻫ ﻋ

ﺒﺣﺠﹺ )
“Hell is surrounded by all kinds of desires and passions, and Paradise is veiled (in another narration ‘surrounded’) by all
kinds of disliked undesirable things.“ [ Bukhari 8:484]
Narrated by Ibn Umar, Prophet said, “Dajjal will stay in the saline land ‘Marqnaat’ while most of the womenfolk
shall approach him. Even so that a man will tie-up his wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt with rope fearing that they might
not conjoin with Dajjal ….” [Ahmed vol 2]
May Allaah protect us all from the Fire of Hell, whose fuel is mankind and stones.
Jannah is the greatest prize that every human being should hope for and strive to reach. And as with all
aspects of the Unseen, it can be only imagined through analogy, yet its realities are far beyond description in
any human language.
The Prophet said that Allaah has prepared for His servants:
ﺕ
ﺭﹶﺃ ﻦ ﻴﻋ ﻴﻬﺎ ﻣﺎ ﹶﻻﻓ
"In it there is that which no eye has seen
Ang nakapaloob dito ay bagay na wala pang matang nakakita

and that never has occurred to the heart of a human being."
At hindi pa kailanman naganap sa puso ng tao
[al-Bukhaari, Muslim and others]
Hence we cannot comprehend the glory that exists in Jannah. What we know about it, from how Allaah
described it in His Book and upon the tongue of Prophet , is that it is so great that everyone of us should
wish for it and try his best to enter.
Paradise is very high. And ascending to lofty places takes a great deal of effort. The way to Paradise is filled
with things that go against human wishes and inclinations. This needs strong determination [pagpapasya] and
willpower [paghahangad].

In a hadith narrated by Bukhari and Muslim from Abu Hurayrah, the Messenger of Allah said that
“Allaah prepares it and He adorns it for His believing servants morning and evening, in preparation for their arrival to it.”
Why do we neglect such an important undertaking [gawain]? After all the things we heard about Jannah,
let’s ask ourselves again, “Do we really want Jannah?”

Furthermore, he said in the book “Ighaathatul Lahfaan”, “Love of Allaah and seeking His nearness, being His
friend and desiring His meeting and being pleased with Him and by Him, is the foundation of the Deen. Just as knowing Him

• What is Taqwa?
Taqwa is one of the most important and comprehensive Islamic concepts. The term is derived from its root
"waqayya" which means “to protect.” Taqwa therefore means to protect one own self from the severe
punishment of Allah by following His guidance.
The tabi’3ee Talq Ibn Habib said: “If an ordeal [mahigpit na pagsubok] appears amongst you extinguish [pawiin] it
with taqwa”. When asked what taqwa is, he replied: “Taqwa is that you act in obedience to Allah, and hope in His
mercy, upon a light from Him; and taqwa is leaving acts of disobedience to Allah out of fear of Him, upon a light from Him”

It is a statement of the tongue, a belief of the heart and an action of the limbs.
It increases through obedience (to Allaah) and decreases through disobedience (to Allaah).
This refers to the tongue’s confirmation of what the heart contains. In other words the tongue professes what
the heart contains. When a person says with his tongue; "I testify that none has the right to be worshipped except
Allaah, alone without any partners and I testify that Muhammad is His servant and messenger" then he is confirming
what is in his heart. So note how the speech of the tongue still relates to knowledge.
This refers to the belief of the heart with respect to Allaah and the other pillars of eemaan (such as the Angels,
Books, Messengers, Qadr, the Last Day etc.). In other words it refers to the knowledge that the heart contains and its firm

This refers to doing all the commanded things and keeping away from all the forbidden things. And this refers to
the physical acts of worship. Notice how the actions of the limbs are also related to Tawheed ul-

Going back to following Allaah’s commands as a way to Jannah, the Scholars have explained that the first
command to the whole of mankind is in ayah 21 of Surah Al- Baqarah.
Prayer is the first act of worship ordained by Allaah upon the believers and the first to be asked on Yawmul
Qiyaamah. This command was received by the Prophet up above when he ascended the seven Heavens.
This shows the great importance of the Salah.
Sisters must be cautious about their prayer as we tend to put it off till the last minute due to the many
chores we do at home. This is one of the many tricks of Shaytan that we fall victim to. Don't be neglectful
of making up prayers as soon as the menses finish.

Abu Hurairah said : The Messenger of Allah said : If the woman pray her five’s (prayers) , fast her month,
prevent her private part and obey her husband, she will enter paradise from whichever gate she wishes . (Ibn Habban).
12 | P a g e
The husband has many rights over his wife. She must make her home a portion of Jannah in this dunya for
her husband, at which he always looks forward coming home to.
From Husayn ibn Mihsan who said that my paternal aunt said,
"I came to Allah’s Messenger for some need, so he asked, ‘You there! Are you married?’ I replied, ‘Yes.’ He then
asked, ‘How are you towards your husband?’ She responded, ‘I do not fall short in his service except with regard to what I am
unable to do.’ He said, ‘Then look to your standing with him, for indeed he is your Paradise and your Fire.’" [Sahih, reported
by al-Haadim and others]
Sometimes the husband may be difficult and lacking the aadab but it is upon the woman to be patient. She
must not retaliate; rather she must do her best to fulfill her duties regardless. She has to do what she has to
do. If he is an oppressor, there are ways to handle it and if goes beyond what is bearable, the Sharee3ah
provides solution to it. If she chooses to be patient, she must forgive her husband and not accumulate those
deeds for her to retaliate. Rather she must strive hard to be a good Muslimah, keeping her eyes on the prize
which is Paradise.
The woman should be cautious where they're going, who they're going with and who they sit with. This is
the same whether she's married or not. She shouldn’t put herself in a doubtful situation where her husband
would suspect her. She should put a strong barrier between herself and such doubtful situations that will
protect them.
Staying home
Women should know that Allaah created them and He has commanded them that they should remain in
their homes. Her prayer is better done at home than in the Masjid., but she shouldn’t be prevented from
going provided she observes the conditions.
Her place is inside her home and this is where she belongs. Allaah placed her home as her natural field of
activity conforming to her physical attributes where she is able to carry out her duties with ease e.g. caring
for her family.
A woman may go out to attend her needs outside her home but she must strongly adhere to the proper
conduct.
Covering properly
The believing woman who wants to go to the Jannah should be cautious about neglecting her hijab. Do not
be like the disobedient women who dress to be seen, who are dressed but yet seem naked. The hijab is your
chastity and modesty.
13 | P a g e
Indeed Allaah ordained the hijab for the believing woman as a protection from the harm of the wicked
people. Be cautious of the enemies who want to strip you out of the proper hijab so they could abuse and
use you to serve their wicked purposes.

That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed.
[Surah al-Ahzab 33:59]
The believing woman whom Allaah wants to make it easy to make it to Jannah needs to remember this---
adorn yourself with the righteous conduct and proper hijab. It is a challenge and sometimes difficult and
hot. But remember that the heat of the hellfire intense.
Beware of the latest hijab and abaya fashions that are designed not to conceal but to enhance the beauty that
the woman is suppose to cover. This is from the tricks of Shaytan that we must be aware of.
It is incumbent upon you o maidservant of Allaah who’s goal is to reach Jannah, to avoid mixing with men.
This trap of Shaytan victimizes most of us, under the guise of “he’s a long time neighbor and he’s harmless”, or
“Oh he’s the husband of my best friend so there should be no malice”. These men are strange men no matter what or
who they are in the community.
When we leave home whether to the market, hospital or the likes, its true that we can’t avoid interacting
with strange men. If this should happen, let our conduct be in a way that is pleasing to Allaah. Speak in
business-like manner and ake sure we are not soft in speech or our charms are not exposed.
Qadi Iyyad in his Sharh of Nawawee, he said it was normal for the Arabs to speak to women and it wasn’t
considered as anything. But when the ayah of hijab was revealed, men stopped talking to women and vice
versa. The believing woman should adorn herself with the characteristic of al-Islaam and not be a source of
fitnah for the men as we have been forewarned:
“I have not left behind me any fitnah (temptation) more harmful to men than women.”
[Bukhaari, 5096; Muslim, 2740]

Give charity
“O women, give in charity, for I have seen that you form the majority of the people of Hell”
They asked, “Why is that, O Messenger of Allaah?
He answered, “Because you curse too much and are ungrateful for the good treatment (done to you by your husbands).”
[Bukhaaree & Muslim, via Abu Sa'eed al-Khudree]

by means of which he dresses himself and it wears out; or he gives as charity, and this is what he stored for himself (as a reward
for the Hereafter). And what is beyond this (it is of no use to you) because you are to depart and leave it for other people."
[Muslim]
The importance of good character is also manifest in the Hadeeth of Allah's Messenger who said:
'Nothing will be heavier on the Day of Resurrection in the scale of the believer than good manners. Allah hates one who utters
foul or coarse language.' [At-Tirmidhee]
The Messenger of Allah was asked about the deed, which will be foremost to lead a man to Jannah, he
replied, 'Fear of Allah and the good character.' Then he was asked about the indulgence, which will admit a man
to Hell and he replied, 'The tongue and the genitals.' [At-Tirmidhee]
Choosing and having good companions is extremely important for many reasons and from many aspects.
The Prophet explained the matter of good companionship, so that no room is left for doubt or
confusion, when he said,
"A person is upon the Deen of his khaleel (close friend), so look to whom you befriend." [Abu Dawud & Tirmidhee]
This means that a person is upon the same minhajj (methodology) as his friend, the same tareeq (path) as his
friend, the same nature, manner and behavior as his friend. So we must be careful about whom we befriend.
There is an Arabic expression - 'Your companion is what pulls you to something'. So if your companion is good, he
will pull to towards that which is good. But if your companion is bad, he will only pull you towards that
which is evil.
Don’t backbite
Prophet asked his companions: "Do you know what backbiting is?" They said, "Allah and His
Messenger know best." He then said, "It is to say something about your brother that he would dislike." Someone asked him,
"But what if what I say is true?" The Messenger of Allah said, "If what you say about him is true, you are backbiting him,
but if it is not true then you have slandered him." [Sahih Muslim: Haidth No 2589].

The Prophet said "Whoever can guarantee me two things I can guarantee them Paradise." The companions asked
"What O Messenger of Allah?" He replied "What is between his jaws (his tongue) and his legs (private parts)." [Bukhari]
"He, who wishes to enter paradise at the best gate, must please his father and mother." [Bukhari & Muslim]
Being patient
If you encounter any harm, be patient. Allaah will test you with certain things whether you'll be patient or
not.

Seeking forgiveness and repentance
“Every son of Adam commits sins, and the best of those who commit sins are those who repent.” [Al-Tirmidhi]
Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated the Messenger of Allah (salallahu alayhi wa salim)
said, “ The companion (Angel) on the left lifts his pen for six hours for the Muslim slave that errs or sins. If this slave repents
and seeks Allah’s forgiveness for that error or sin, the Angel doesn’t record it. And if the slave doesn’t ask Allah for
forgiveness, the Angel records it once. [Collected by At-Tabarani in Kabir (7667 ) , Abu Na’eem in Hilya (6/124), Al-Bayhaqi in
Shu’ib (6788). Shaykh Al-Albani graded this hadeeth as being Hasan in Saheehah (1209)
“Indeed a servant commits a sin by which he enters Paradise; and another does a good deed by which he enters the Fire.”
So he replied: “The one who committed the sin, constantly thinks about it; which causes him to fear it, regret it, weep over it and
feel ashamed in front of his Lord the Most High – due to it. He stands before Allâh, broken-hearted and with his head
lowered in humility.
So this sin is more beneficial to him than doing many acts of obedience, since it caused him to have humility and humbleness –
which leads to the servant’s happiness and success – to the extent that this sin becomes the cause for him entering Paradise.
As for the doer of good, then he does not consider this good a favor from his Lord upon him. Rather, he becomes arrogant and
amazed with himself, saying: I have achieved such and such, and such and such. So this further increases him in self-adulation,
pride and arrogance – such that this becomes the cause for his destruction.” [Al-Wâbilus-Sayib minal-Kalimit-Tayyib, p.15]
"The fornication of the eyes is the sight (looking lustfully), the fornication of the tongue is the talk (with sexual overtones), and
the heart (inner self) lusts and desires and the private parts testify all this or deny it." (Aboo Hurayrah, Bukhari)
The list goes on and on, but let’s suffice it here with a very inspirational aayah:

We ask Allaah to guide us to the Straight path, the path of those whom He is pleased with. We need Him
and we ask Him not to leave us alone to ourselves even for a single moment. Aameen.
Everything that is correct is from Allaah and anything that is wrong is from me.
