The Barangay Nutrition Committee of Barangay Rizal, Odiongan, Romblon held a meeting on June 09, 2021 to discuss the adoption of Republic Act No. 10028, also known as "The Expanded Promotion of Breastfeeding Act of 2009". “RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE REPUBLIC ACT NO. 10028, “THE EXPANDED


PROMOTION OF BREASTFEEDING ACT OF 2009 FOR BARANGAY RIZAL,
ODIONGAN, ROMBLON

Committee on Health and Sanitation

WHEREAS, The first preventive measures that can be given to a child at birth is breast milk. It
also enhances mother-infant relationship thus prevent milk importation that can save the country’s
valuable foreign exchange;

WHEREAS, the implementation of a workplace lactation program which includes a “rooming-In”


area to all government and private health institutions for breastfeeding practices gives an opportunity to
working mothers to express their duties by breastfeeding in privacy. Furthermore, this will help ensure
optimum health and proper nutrition of their infants even while at work;

WHEREAS, mothers want to nurture their child and our own policies in the country are in full
support to do so;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Hon. Alpha F. Fetalsana, duly seconded by Hon. Victoria C.
Forio, it was;

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Barangay of Barangay


Rizal, in session assembled, to adopt the Republic Act No. 10028, “The Expanded Promotion of
Breastfeeding Act of 2009” for Barangay Rizal, Odiongan, Romblon.

RESOLVED FINALLY, that copies of this resolution be forwarded to the concerned agencies for
their information and appropriate action.

APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY.
