CCE - A Brieef Introduction

Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) refers to a system of school-based assessment that covers all aspects of a student's development, including scholastic, co-scholastic, academic and non-academic areas. CCE involves formative and summative assessments throughout the academic year. Formative assessments are carried out continuously, while summative assessments are conducted at the end of each term. Students are graded based on their performance and given grade points in each subject area. The final assessment and promotion of students is based on their cumulative performance and grade points across all subject areas.

Will comprise of 1 or more of : Class work Homework Oral questions Quizzes Projects Assignments/Tests

SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT(SA)
Will be Term End Examination: Curriculum and syllabus as circulated by the board Question papers from CBSE Exam to be conducted by schools Evaluation of Answer scripts done in school as per answer key and marking scheme sent by CBSE

SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT SA2 CLASS X

SA-1 to be conducted by School SA-2 Board Exam

ASSESSMENT FOR AN ACADEMIC YEAR Term I FA1, FA2 and SA1 10%+10%+20% = 40%

Term II - FA3, FA4 and SA2 10%+10%+40% = 60%

FINAL ASSESSMENT
Formative FA1+ FA2+ FA3+ FA4

10%+10%+10%+10% = 40% Summative SA1 + SA2 20% + 40% = 60% TOTAL = 100%

PROMOTION RULES of Class IX


Total grade points earned by students to be calculated by adding grade points for all co-scholastic areas Students who get total grade points in the range 34-42, may benefit by getting upgraded to the next higher grade in two subjects in scholastic areas

Students who get total grade points in the range 19-33, may benefit by getting upgraded to the next higher grade in one subjects in scholastic areas Benefit will be given to students who win 1st /2nd position/prize held at state level and/or participation/prize in competitions held at national/ international level organised by a body recognised by the state/ central govt./ CBSE
