Kartik Aaryan
Thomas Cook India Limited has appointed Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan as brand ambassador for its foreign exchange business, the company announced today.
The shares of Thomas Cook India Limited were trading at ₹139.63, up by ₹4.36 or 3.22 per cent on the NSE today at 2.20 pm.
The strategic move aims to target India’s millennial and Gen Z travellers, who the company identifies as powerful drivers in the country’s outbound travel growth. The partnership begins with a campaign promoting Thomas Cook’s recently launched Borderless Travel Card, a multi-currency prepaid card designed for international travellers.
Deepesh Varma, Executive Vice President of Foreign Exchange at Thomas Cook India, expressed optimism about the prepaid card business, citing significant opportunity from younger Indian travellers. According to the company, the Borderless Travel Card builds on the success of their existing portfolio, which includes Study Buddy for students and EnterpriseFX for business travellers.
In the campaign advertisement, Aaryan highlights the card’s benefits while depicting common forex challenges faced by international travellers. The campaign will be distributed across digital platforms, connected TV, and social media.
Aaryan, described as having a strong connection with India’s youth, stated he personally endorses the card as a “smart, seamless, secure and highly convenient solution for Indian travellers.”
Thomas Cook India, established in 1881, is a leading omnichannel travel company offering services including foreign exchange, corporate travel, leisure travel, and visa services across 28 countries on 5 continents.
