Functional Natural Killer-cell Genetics and Microvascular Inflammation After Kidney Transplantation: An Observational Cohort Study
Recent evidence highlights the pivotal role of natural killer (NK) cells in allograft rejection.
Corneal Graft Rejection: Is It Reflected in Peripheral Immune Cells? Results of a Prospective Multicenter Study (VISICORT)
Allogeneic graft rejection is the leading cause of graft failure in corneal transplantation (CT) despite the immune privilege of the anterior chamber and corneal bed. The ability to identify patients at higher risk of acute rejection before or after CT could have a major impact on the clinical management of these patients.

The Impact of Posttransplant Lymphoproliferative Disease in High-risk Kidney Transplant Recipients: Benefits of Prevention
Posttransplant lymphoproliferative disease (PTLD) is increased in kidney transplant recipients who are Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) nonimmune (R–), particularly if the donor has prior EBV immunity (D+). PTLD is associated with very high mortality. The purpose of this study was to quantify the impact of PTLD on deceased donor EBV D+R– kidney transplant recipients.
New Donor Selection Criteria Result in Optimal Outcomes of Kidneys from Uncontrolled Donation After the Circulatory Determination of Death
The aim of our study is to share our experience with uncontrolled donation after the circulatory determination of death (uDCDD) kidney transplantation and to propose updated donor selection criteria for uDCDD programs.

ITS 2025 Abstracts and Registration

Join us for the 2025 International Transplantation Science meeting (ITS 2025) and connect with the leading global transplantation community!

On behalf of AST, ESOT and TTS, we wish to extend to you a warm welcome to the 2025 International Transplant Science meeting in San Diego, California USA.

This is the fourth of the ITS tri-society meeting series in collaboration with ESOT and TTS. This meeting will provide a wonderful opportunity for transplant researchers to learn from outstanding international speakers while visiting this stunningly beautiful region of the world.

The ITS 2025 will provide a forum for presentations and discussions of cutting-edge basic and translational science in and beyond transplantation. This meeting will not only serve as an international platform for scientific discussions on the latest ground-breaking discoveries in the field but will also provide an excellent opportunity to present your own work to the scientific community. We hope this will allow for the exchange of new ideas and establishment of collaborative work between senior scientists, young professionals and early-stage researchers.

CTRMS 2025 Call for Abstracts and Awards Deadlines

Call for Abstracts Deadline:
June 1, 2025

Abstracts should focus on introducing new concepts, research methods, and technologies that can be understood and appreciated by those inside and outside their immediate field of expertise. Our goal is to create a platform for cross-disciplinary information exchange where attendees can learn something new from slightly different fields and apply it to their own research. Abstracts will be published in a special supplement in Transplantation, and some exceptional full manuscripts will be considered for regular publication at a later time in Transplantation Direct.
