Q:
If you don't use a separate fryer for the gluten free items, how can you say they are gluten free? Folks with Celiac wouldn't safely be able to dine here?
A:
My husband has celiac and doesn't eat anything fried here. He has eaten non-fried foods though and we eat here all the time.
Nancy F.ÂQ:
Are dogs allowed on the patio?
A:
My son has a service animal and he is allowed inside, not sure about pets.

This place was so good that my friend and I came back for a second time on our 3 day trip. The service was excellent and the place is very chill, not crowded during the week. I would recommend:
Chicken and waffles
Buffalo pizza
Tumeric chai
The Caesar Salad and tomato soup were also really good.Helpful 1Thanks 2Love this 3Oh no 0 - Feb 18, 2025
This place came highly recommended to me by many, so I had been looking forward to trying it. It is a by default vegan menu but you can add animal products like dairy cheese & eggs.
Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed.
The menus are online, but they do have physical menus if you ask, so that was nice!
I got the gochujang tomato soup & pretzels with cheese sauce and mustard sauce. The tomato soup wasn't creamy, more like chunky tomato that got blended & no creaminess added. It was a good spice level, but I didn't get the crema on top that was listed on the menu. The scallions/green onions were also quite thickly cut for a topping.
The pretzels were pretzel sticks (not a blended twisty pretzel shape), reminding me of the pretzel bread Trader Joe's used to sell. Nothing special, but was pretzel bread with course salt on top. The mustard sauce was yummy (whole grain mustard is great) but the cheese sauce was meh. It was very thin and runny, and had interesting spices in it (warm spices). It was a sweet cheese and not what I was looking for with a pretzel.
I got the oatmeal cookie sandwich with maple blueberry cream cheese frosting. This was also disappointing. The oatmeal cookies were definitely oatmeal cookies, but I don't think the frosting/filling was cream cheese frosting. It tasted like buttercream. It also was just plain frosting with light maple flavor with dried blueberries inside. Still a sweet dessert, but not what I was looking for or expecting based off the menu description.
There's two different sections of seating with totally different vibes, one in the back that is cozy and warm and welcoming with plants and books, and the other in the front is dark and cold. My friend and I got sat super close to the front door so only got to enjoy the back when we went to the bathroom.
Such a bummer because I was excited to try a place people kept talking about.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jason E.Hollywood, Los Angeles, CAJan 11, 2025
I've eaten here multiple times throughout the years passing through Denver. The atmosphere is great. But the food is has always been lacking. It tastes like vegan/vegetarian food you'd get at a place in the 2000's. They haven't perfected the palette yet.
I would have given a higher rating if it weren't for the deceptive pricing. They charged me a 7% "livable wage" fee and a 13% " takeout convenience" fee? ON TAKEOUT.
Charging me 20% total on TAKEOUT? Price in what you need to pay your employees. It's deceptive, sneaky and rude at a time when consumers are already being bled dry.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 6, 2025
One of my favorite go-to vegan spots in Denver. Easy street parking. Casual, welcoming staff. Huge menu and great bar. Beer list includes so many good local beers. I love the reverse happy hour too. Fav menu items are seitan wings, ravioli, Caesar salad, taquitos, tacos. Most things come with special sauces that pair perfectly with the dish. Everything I've tried has been full of flavor. Don't miss their sister restaurant Watercourse.

Went here this weekend for a friends birthday brunch, as it's one of her favorite spots in Denver to go to as a vegetarian. It was a cute, trendy little spot in Cap Hill, I had never been by until now! The staff were friendly and attentive to our party and prices were very decent. We all shared an order of the seitan wings (buffalo and bbq style) and they were super tasty. We all had different drinks (bloody Mary's, mimosas, teas..) that were delicious. I ordered the "chicken and waffles" as it looked and sounded so good on the menu. And it was! I did a half order so it came with half a waffle and then one large cauliflower, drizzled with syrup and something else. It also had a side of maybe sweet potatoes to resemble bacon? I'm a meat eater so I appreciated that haha. Every one else seemed to really like their dishes too and we definitely recommend this place!

This is a cool place in Capitol Hill, just a few blocks from the Capitol building and a short walk from the Art museum. Lots of vegan and veggie options and a full bar. In nice days there's an outdoors seating space and they open the doors so the front feels like a patio too in a way. In the back, there's a full bar that has a little bit of biker/dive bar vibe which is pretty cool. There's a happy hour too and we loved the services. The tacos were very good, and they're $3 at happy hour if I remember correctly. My daughter, who has Celiac, was very happy with the GF options.

City o City has came up in conversation MANY times through friends and even strangers. We stopped in on Saturday night at about 6pm. There was a 40 minute wait which is expected for a popular spot on a weekend. We were greeted immediately and had our name put on the list. The energy inside was great for a Saturday night and felt like we could even just hang out there for some time. Great spot to have dinner with friends.
Once sat, we had ordered through the QR code with our friendly staff member.
We ordered
- Cortado (not pictured I was sleepy and needed to drink that asap)
- Caesar Salad
- All Day Breakfast Sandwich
Everything came out great! Most people are afraid of vegan/vegetarian restaurants as they believe it might taste bad or different. I am not vegan or vegetarian myself but I always enjoy dining at a place that offers because it does taste great!
The decor inside was so cool. I love all the bright colors and paintings.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 29, 2024
SO GOOD. It's difficult to find veg/vegan while traveling and City O' City made it so easy. They were understanding about allergies and everything was clearly labeled.
Came here for dinner and it is elevated American/bar food. I will dream of their bbq seitan wings and that vegan ranch. Got so much that we had to take it home. The poutine is a huge portion and make sure to dunk the fries in the gravy that they give to you. The fried cauliflower is so crispy and they pieces are huge. Do not underestimate it like we did.
The kale is perfect to break up all of the fried food.
Staff is super kind and helps you through the menu. Very casual and I can see this place being cool to come to in the morning. Need to come back the next time I am in Denver.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Marissa M.Denver, COApr 26, 2025Updated review
The first time I ate here I had order things that I ended up not loving however I have since had the breakfast burrito made vegan with the green chili and HOLY SHIT. It is soooo good. I've now had it over 5 times and every time it is amazing. The best vegan breakfast burrito I've ever had. Truly I crave it. The staff are always so friendly as well!

I ordered the mac and cheese and Cesar salad, which I think are the hardest vegan dishes to make taste great at any restaurant. The Mac and cheese was too sweet and the Cesar dressing had no flavor. I would go back to try other dishes but these were a miss.
