Subject: mailman: mm_cfg.py missing important documentation
Date: Fri, 13 Feb 2004 10:00:52 -0500
Package: mailman
Severity: wishlist
It would be very helpful if mm_cfg.py contained a little more
documentation. At a mininum, it should indicate which settings will
effect lists immediately (if any), and which will only effect new lists
(or existing lists when fix_url.py is run on them).
It took me a long time to figure out that in order for changes to
DEFAULT_EMAIL_HOST, DEFAULT_URL_HOST, and MAILMAN_OWNER to kick in, it
was necessary to run fix_url.py. As it is common for changes in /etc
files to take place immediately, I think it would be worth mentioning
what needs to be done for variables here to take effect.
Finally (and less importantly), a brief commented out example of using
add_virtualhost would also be helpful, along, perhaps, with an
explanation of its association with fix_url.py.

This doesn't seem to be related to the bug description. Possibly it
should be bug #232005?

Roger

Mea culpa, this one obviously slipped by when checking the changelog,
the next release will be my brown bag one :(
