Subject: mailman: could use additional details on SpamAssassin patch in README.Debian
Date: Mon, 1 Mar 2004 15:12:48 -0500
Package: mailman
Version: 2.1.4-1
Severity: normal
For those of us who are new to Mailman and aren't so familiar with the
history of the project, it would be helpful if the "SpamAssassin"
paragraph in README.Debian.gz included a little more info on that patch
(especially standard Mailman documentation doesn't mention anything
about this patch).
In particular, there are now a couple different SpamAssassin patches in
the mailman project on SourceForge, and it would be helpful to know
exactly which one was the one included in the Debian package. (As far
as I can tell, this would be the March 17, 2003 version of the patch
from "jhenstidge", Request Id 534577.)

Also, it might be worth including the URL to James Henstridge's
documentation page for the patch, since it goes over the filter's other
configuration options and suggests a possible way to configure spamd to
work well with mailing lists (and which is different than the default
Debian spamd config).

Thanks.
