Somewhere between the last release I had used (5.2.8) and 5.2.22 VirtualBox has lost the ability to boot Solaris 11 on my Windows 10 PC. It would appear that the drop down in the version of Solaris is now missing Solaris 11 64 bit as an option and therefore VB tries to boot this as a 32 bit Solaris 10 guest which then fails with the message Long Mode not supported.
Has anyone else seen this or know a workaround?
Thanks

Re: Solaris 11 unable to boot in 5.2.22
My 5.2.22 installation of VirtualBox lists Solaris 11 64bit as an option. My guess would be that something else has taken control of VT-x on your hardware (Hyper-V most likely) and it is preventing any sort of 64bit guests. Follow the advice in I have a 64bit host, but can't install 64bit guests thread.

My crystal ball is currently broken. If you want assistance you are going to have to give me all of the necessary information.

Re: Solaris 11 unable to boot in 5.2.22
I can run Solaris 11 in VBox 5.2.8 and am running that now. If I upgrade to 5.2.22 I cannot boot Solaris 11, and have to revert to 5.2.8 so I do not think you have a solution to my problem.

Re: Solaris 11 unable to boot in 5.2.22
Andy is clearly correct. A VM log file would provide proof.
Another simple test: are any 64bit VMs allowed? If only Solaris 64bit is missing, that's one thing. If every 64bit template is missing then it's clearly because something is using VT-x.

Re: Solaris 11 unable to boot in 5.2.22
Just to close this thread. I installed 5.2.22 for the third time today, reverting back to 5.2.8 each time to verify that Solaris 11 would still boot. Each time I went back to 5.2.8 Solaris 11 booted fine.
At the third attempt to install 5.2.22 Solaris 11 booted successfully so I do not know what happened in between. The PC has not been rebooted not have any other apps been running.
Sorry for the noise.
