Apes and humans exist in different ecological niches, they do not directly compete with one another for food, shelter, resources, etc. This is not true for different human species.



Excuse me, but we (humans) are apes. We are not that extraordinary creatures to put ourself outside the biological taxonomy tree.

So it would be more accurate if you had written "humans and other apes".


He was using the same terminology as the comment to which he was replying. I don't see how semantic quibbling would have added all that much.

No, we humans are not apes. Different species entirely.


Humans are in the Great Ape taxonomic family, which is a subclass of the Ape family.
