Nice! Adding it to my mega site of free image sites for blogging list.

https://www.mattcrampton.com/blog/mega_list_of_free_image_si...

Perhaps you all should join forces

Awesome!

Quick question: Why are Pixabay and Pexels not under Stock Photos also? :-)

yo swyx, nice to see you on here as well!

Bookmarked!

Took me a while to scroll up to the top of that list. You should change that tagline. Nobody is getting through that list in a hurry! :)

hi :)

nah im overpromising AND overdelivering lol :galaxybrain:

I searched pug and it's very interesting to see what a pug looked like 200 years ago.

I also searched for rocket and have no idea what I'm seeing.

https://artvee.com/?s=rocket&post_type=product

It is a Children's Book about Urban Living. [0]

A child lights up a rocket in the basement, it travels upwards through every apartment in the building.

alternative project gutenberg link to the rocket book

Great site, thanks for sharing it.

I love botanical illustrations so searched for that. Instead of showing me the search results page, it took me to this image: https://artvee.com/dl/view-of-charlottenborg-palace-in-copen...

It should have taken me here: https://artvee.com/c/botanical/

Was gonna say I feel like I've seen this posted on HN a few times now

I wished they'd filled in all of the metadata so I could find the artists from my backgrounds folder in 5 years.

This is really cool. Does anyone have any suggestions for a reputable printing company for creating prints of these? I see the site links to Canvaspop but I'd be hoping to find someone that could do giclée prints or similar, rather than only canvas.

https://www.prodigi.com

High quality giclee prints as well as a range of other products.

I also sell public ___domain prints through my Etsy shop (sorry for the shameless plug).

I can't remember how I got to this, but somewhere there must have been a blog post on this May 3rd talking about dibond aluminum printing, which lead me to this company

https://www.whitewall.com/us/metal-prints/ultra-hd-aluminum-...

I had been considering to use them, but forgot about it. They seem to have pretty good tech, offering many different types of printing methods.

This is third time I've seen artvee posted on here. I'm happy to see it again! I freaking love the user experience of this website, it's so simple yet so intuitive. The other websites I went to have horrible search features or display the images in really tiny thumbnails.

This is fantastic, thank you for posting it!

I like the business model of offering to print it via vistaprint (which might give them a cut).

How is this funded?

There's a link on each image that lets you order a print from canvaspop, I would guess they get a cut of each order.

A little tangential question - but is there a time at which art becomes public ___domain? 50 years after its creation? Longer?
