We've already got hardware level DRM wars with GPUs that aren't supposed to run verboten hash functions; why not spread that to the whole system?

Think of the follow on opportunities! Why can't every chip be a "Clipper Chip"? Who will pay for the perceptual hash stream from the user's video card? how about their input event stream? Does the user get to bid?
