the funds were limited so only the wealthiest banking clients made the cut. PPP was a perk for people with premium business bank accounts.

There were reports of that for the first round, especially from mega banks like Wells Fargo.

But not all lenders were banks. My company got its two PPP loans through ReadyCapital. My company had zero previous relationship with them.
