I don't know. C has worked perfectly fine for me for various tasks and projects over the years. And I'm not alone so there's that, you and your hyperbole are wrong here. Granted I probably wouldn't choose C if safety is one of the biggest issues and it's not a small project, but the blame C gets for just being an honest language which indeed gives you power and the responsibility that comes with it is usually just laughable. C also gives you simplicity which I find delightful. I guess some big projects can indeed profit on complex features and build systems but for smaller stuff it's so easy to just write a simple C program to do it.

You really should be using a tool correctly and for the correct use cases, otherwise the critique is meaningless at best. The fact that the 100% sensible and nonoffensive parent comment is now "flagged" just because folks don't agree with it is just ridiculous.
