I could see AI being similar to the domestication of wolves. Humans encounter superior species, we co-opt the species to both species' benefit. Maybe AI would benefit from keeping us around. For example, we could test paths for it. Keeping a suboptimal pet like us for testing eliminates weak strategies, like a QA team finding bugs. It strengthens approaches by exposing flaws early.
