Awfully bold of you to assume we are better governed than Rome - back when ther was still such a thing as honor.



Stabbing your political rivals, marching armies at one’s own capital, etc are definitely considered less honourable in these fallen times.


It's not bold at all. The last century of the Roman Republic is famous for how unstable it was, which is why it is known as the crisis of the roman republic. In the empire that followed, around 40 emperors were either murdered or executed.
