The makings of a media mogul: Michael Arrington of TechCrunch (liako.biz)

An interesting take-away for me here was the importance of offline social networking in first getting TechCrunch off the ground. Networking is so important, and while the interwebs are a great place to connect with new people online, nothing can really replace getting outside the office/house/whatever and connecting with real, live people.

I need to be better at doing this myself. Great read here. Thanks for posting.

Calling Michael Arrington a "media mogul" is generous.

This is the best article I’ve read on how Arrington developed TechCrunch into what it is today

TechCrunch posts more than 5+ articles now. I read tons of news everyday, from HN, RSS reader, TC, OM..

But kudos for making the story short and concise everytime, it is what makes me come back to TC. Because they go straight to the point. Unlike GigaOM, they have long posts.

And, the cool thing about reading TC is you see some drama happening. You remember when Mark Cuban got angry and expressed his feeling in TC? How bout the debacle of DEMO? We watched how Michael Arrington brought down DEMO!!

This is what news should be! Excitement + Wisdom + Humour

... + Linkbait
