If we wouldn’t do that for Russia, which I suggested years ago and was massively dragged for it on HN, then why would we do it for Italy? I don’t agree with poisoning DNS, but there are way worse things happening on the internet that we don’t disconnect whole nations for.
Then do it for Russia too. I also don't care if I get "dragged" for suggesting it. Capitulating to poor leadership is enabling poor leadership and the world is in a bad state because of it.
Literally the only reason it doesn't happen is because there's too much money to be made for people who are not you and me.
Frankly if it did happen, someone would bridge it and I'm sure that rogue bridge ain't gonna be poisoning anything. They'd be a hero and a broker.
The fact that Russia is still connected to the Internet is a thorn in the side of a lot of anti-piracy efforts because pirating western content is legal there, as far as I understand it.
