Amazing. Viewing this article sparked a thought, whoever makes the infamous “artistic rendering”s, their job got a lot easier recently with AI.


Artistic rendering, yes. It's not usually something new, afterall. Incredibly divulged from really rendering what scientists want to communicate about something somewhat visual with some basis on reality (and real images) while using size, shape, contrast and colors (sometimes with artistic license) to communicate effectively a scientific idea.


Very cool. Anyone know more about this: "This discovery opens the door for researchers to begin dissecting the genes that could play various roles for cellulose biosynthesis in the plant"

ie. how does this let them find the relevant genes? Knocking out likely candidates and then do an image?
