Limiting diversity programs, I vaguely get in a very distant way ... if I accept what I think is a dishonest argument from the administration.

The idea that you can somehow promise to limit the activity / speech of other adults with rights makes no sense and seems like a poor effort at an end run to avoid first amendment violation.

He wants them to expel students who protest his administration or causes, and report any who are on study visas to ICE for a couple weeks of "detention" followed by deportation if they're lucky, or to be sent to CECOT if they're not. Schools can do those things, and that's what he wants.
And violations of the law, and even the Constitution, only matter if someone enforces the law.
