Where is the Wifi? This thing is great, and I have an awesome application for it, but it needs to connect to my home wireless network. ;)

There is USB Host so there is always the option of a USB based Wifi card. Not fast but possible.

Why "not fast"? USB 2.0 is 480Mbps, 802.11g is 54Mbps.

I was speaking from general experience with USB wifi cards. Maybe the hardware just sucked and not the standard. :)

There will doubtless be a version with wifi built in in due course, whether from them or someone else.

I'd quite like one that doubles as a power strip.

That made me think of this:

Ubiquitous computing at the MIT Media Lab -- I saw a great presentation on this a couple years ago by Joe Paradiso. Their idea was also to embed networked computers in power strips as a hub for everything else to communicate through. It's called the Plug on this page.

Unfortunately, my experience seems to be that very few wireless manufacturers are really willing to make their hardware "open." This problem seems to have hit OpenMoko as well; I'm guessing this is why they don't have 3G.

So it'll probably come along someday.
