beta.playigl.com and www.playigl.com have A records (same IP). playigl.com doesn't have an A record, so it doesn't resolve to anything.

As I understand it, you don't want playigl.com to have a CNAME, because then the MX records wouldn't work. You need to give it an A record, and have the webserver handle it.
