The discussion about style is useless because everybody is different and has a different taste.

The only thing that matters is usability. And that's where iOS7 fails. Some examples:

  On the home screen "Reminders" is barely readable.
  Receiving a phone call: You can't read the name.
  Messages: white text on a light background: bad for reading.
  The weather: barely readable.
