Two fillets, the upper red, the lower white, are tied about the shaft. At the left, a youth in himation, holding a staff or spear, the butt of which resembles the feathered end of an arrow. At the right, a woman with short hair, clothed in a sleeved chiton with kolpos. On a Nolan amphora in Oxford Apollo holds a staff with a similar end.
