Minot, George Richards 1758-1802

Jurist; born in Boston, Mass., Dec. 22, 1758; graduated at Harvard College in 1778; began law practice in Boston; became probate judge for Suffolk county in 1792; and was secretary of the convention which adopted the national Constitution. His publications include Eulogy on Washington; History of the Insurrection in Massachusetts in 1786; and Continuation of the1 history of Massachusetts Bay from the year 1748, with an introductory sketch of events from its original settlement. He died in Boston, Mass., Jan. 2, 1802.
