The Legislature.

In the Senate yesterday, a bill was reported imposing taxes for the support of Government. The bill releasing the Schr. Pauline from payment of a fine due the State for violating the inspection law, was passed; also, a number of local bills. The bill making an appropriation for a Military Academy in the Western part of the State was rejected.

The House passed a number of local bills — among them one amending the act authorizing the City Council to allow street railroads.--The tax bill was amended and debated.
